First of all, thanks to positivespace for linking to Face Your Manga. LOL I'm not that great about using those things, but it was sorta fun. X-D I actually cooked today: Unagi tamago with rice and Unagi. Yah, a double helping of Unagi, mostly because I didn't want to waste it since I obviously couldn't put all of the Unagi in the tamago roll. Actually that's only half of everything, the pretty half. LOL What I actually ate was this. X-D Yah I had the heat on too high, so I burned part of the egg. It was still ok, just doesn't look very good. I'll know better next time. I also tried to put too much unagi in the tamago, so again, over doing it. I probably shouldn't have tried to do the unagi filled tamago on my first go, but eh, what the hell. It turned out mostly ok and I'll know what to do next time. :D ( Recipe )It's actually quite tasty, even if I did burn it a little. But that was only cosmetic, it didn't taste burned at all. Oh yah, and on a family note: I went to a family dinner last night to celebrate my Grandmother's 90th birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDMA! :D Tags: cooking, family, grandmother

Starship Troopers 3Why the hell did I think it was a good idea to watch Starship Troopers 3: Marauder? I mean it had Casper Van Dien back and Jolene Blalock (Enterprise) what can go wrong... Oh just EVERYTHING?! OH MAN I want my 100 minutes back. I mean don't get me wrong, I LOVED the first Starship Troopers. That is the classic, action, blood, guts, testosterone, HURAH let's kill anything THAT HAS MORE THEN 2 LEGS! movie. Love it. 2 and 3... err... not so much. -_- Home made Ice CreamOh well, good news is that I have two batches of of home made ice cream chilling in the fridge. My favorite Vanilla with Peanut butter cup and I'm trying to make Green Tea ice cream. I may have screwed up the recipe for the green tea one though. :/ We'll see tomorrow after it sits for a while with the loose leaf green tea sitting in the milk/cream mixture. O...M...G... Shoot'em Up is the best action movie EVER! I didn't get a chance to catch it when it was in theatres, so I finally got it on Netflix and FUCKING DAMN! Holy crap it was an awesome action movie. I wish I saw it on the big screen! Amazing gun play and stunts and Monica Bellucci was smokin'. I can't even count how many times I went, "Woah!" "Holy shit!" "DAAAAANM!!" during that movie and I'm usually pretty quiet watching movies. To top that off, I also cooked the perfect fillet mignon tonight. It was seared crispy on the outside, soft, pink and juicy on the inside and topped with caramelized red onions. For dessert, I had a bacon chocolate bar. Honestly, I think tonight was the perfect night not involving a woman. :D Tags: cooking, movie review

I'm of course, talking about the new Whole Foods in Cupertino. I think my jaw dropped to the floor when I pulled up to the new digs. It's HUGE! And walking in is just... wow... it still has a great fish and meat section as well as exotic cheezes. I picked up another lovely blue cheese and a baked brie. It's brie cheese wrapped in a pastry which you literally bake in the oven and then slice and enjoy. Oh man I can't wait to try that baby out... :-9 Some of the new sections (or at least greatly expanded in my view) is the new pastry section. It's HUGE! It has some great pastries, chocolates and deserts. I cannot believe I spent $12 on two bars of imported chocolate. X-9 I got a Red Fire Bar that blends Mexican ancho chipolite chilies and dark chocolate (55% cacao) and wait for it... Mo's Bacon Bar! That's right, applewood smoked bacon, alder wood smoked salt and dark milk chocolate (41% cacao). Oh yes, two of the finest things in food, chocolate and bacon. X-D I'm sure it will be GLORIOUS! But I'm too full from dinner. ( Speaking of which, dinner consisted of... )So the funny thing is, shopping there really makes me want to cook more, even though I get discounted food at work... Anyway, the menu for the rest of the week.
- Mapo Tofu and Tuna Sashimi - Made extra for lunch tomorrow.
- Meat Loaf
-
- Carmalized Figs - Need to go to the hardware store and buy a blow torch and the corresponding fire extinguisher
- Finish off the left over vegetable curry
- Beef Jerky - Which I haven't made in a long time.
- Macadamia nut brittle - If I can find a nice sturdy stock pot to buy
- Chocolate Bacon Ice Cream - Using that Mo's Bacon Bar -- Oh yes baby! X-)
Ok yah, that's a bit ambitious, we'll see how much of that is actually made. LOL Man I love Whole Foods. X-) Huh, I don't have to fit into any form fitting costumes for the next few months right...? <checks> AWESOME! :D Tags: cooking, pictures
