Ok, I have to admit, this is the first set where I can't quite figure out which are the "serious" cosplay photos and the ones where everyone is just goofing off...
I'm just gonna put everything out there and you can decide! :)
Hehe, we were actually joking that you'd have to be at LEAST this skimpy to get a shoot with me. Obviously that isn't true, but oh wouldn't it be nice if it were. ;-)
BTW, this was shot in the middle of a busy lobby. There was literally people all over sitting in chairs, just a few feet away. But because of the spotlight effect, only the lovely DW was in the photo without all the other distracting con goers.
Just FYI, that isn't 'shop, that's the actual reflection on the marble floor of the convention hotel. Just did some color/lighting corrections in Lightroom and of course the watermark. More info about the lighting under the cut.
Taken at YaoiCon this weekend. (Why do I go again?) I loved the black outfits with the red accents of all the main costumes. So I really tried to accentuate that with the direct flash/spotlight lighting. I think the photos turned out absolutely awesome.
There's not too much 'shop in these photos, just a little color correction. The pink and red really overwhelmed the photos in some cases. LOL So yes, I did have to tone down the pink a bit.
So when I saw braisinhussy with her stunningly styled blonde hair at moriyama_umibirthday lunch I wanted to photograph her! But she said she was gonna chop it off! Nooooo!
So I convinced her to do a beauty shoot with me before she did. Good thing too, her appointment is next week. LOL
It also gave me a chance to try a few different lighting techniques and I think the results turned out wonderfully!
Also, before anyone asks, the "blur" is not Photoshop. I was using my Canon 50mm/f1.2L lens. That gives crazy thin depth of field. There's actually a few shots where the focus "missed" and the eyes are not in focus, but say an ear is. >_< It's an awesome lens, but you gotta be super careful with the focus when it's that wide open.
My co-worker James and his wife were nice enough to have me in their home so that I could get some experience shooting family portraits with their son and newborn.
So cute! OMG. LOL
Check out the photos, I have to admit, it was definitely different then many of the other shoots I've been on before, but it was great capturing a slice of the family.
